- A pair of removable silicone “anchors” for more reliable fixation of the earphone in the ear;
- Cover for transportation from dense material;

The kit has everything you might need to use wireless headphones in any situation.
Beyerdynamic Byron BT is an in-ear wireless headphone, interconnected by a cable on which the control panel is located.
The case is made of aluminum, has a complex shape for more convenient use. Unlike plastic competitors, the headphones have noticeable weight, and I liked it. When you take them in your hand, you feel that they are strong and reliable. There is no doubt about the quality of the design.
Engineers were able to maintain the perfect balance between weight and comfort. Headphones with correctly selected ear cushions do not fall out of your ear even while running. If you need a particularly reliable fit, you can always use the complete silicone “anchors.” In this case, the headphones are perfect for playing sports. They will not fall out of your ear. But be careful, Beyerdynamic Byron BT does not have protection against sweat and moisture, so I do not recommend doing heavy sports in them for a long time. They will be excellent companions during jogging or supporting training in the gym.
Another interesting feature is the magnets on the back of the headphone case. They are needed so that the headphones stick to each other while they hang on the neck, and you do not use them. A successful and elegant solution that prevents accidental loss of headphones.
The ByronBT sound guides are unusual: the part that the ear cushions are worn on is thinner and much shorter than conventional headphones, so you have to use the complete ear cushions. I don’t think this will be a problem because It includes ear pads in all standard sizes.
The wire connecting the headphones is flat and elastic. I listened to headphones on the street at a temperature of -5 degrees. The wire is not going to defective.
There is a microphone effect, so when listening to headphones on the street in the cold season, when the wire touches the collar of a sweater or down jacket, it must be laid so that it allows you to turn your head without difficulty. In this case, there will be no problems. Without contact with warm winter clothes, the microphone effect is absent.
On the wire, closer to the right earphone, there is a fairly large control panel with three buttons and a jack for connecting a charger.
In the photographs, it may seem that the remote control is heavy and will pull off the headphone, but in practice, it turned out to be very light and, despite its size, I did not feel it. Only in rare cases when, when turning his head, he touched the jacket’s collar, I remembered that he was there at all. When listening to headphones at home in a T-shirt, the remote control is completely invisible.
The buttons feel good and are clearly pressed. I liked them. After several days of using the headphones, I easily pressed the necessary buttons the first time and did not miss them. The large size turned out to be very convenient when you need to adjust the volume or switch the music track quickly.
Multifunctional central button:
- Turn on / off the headphone;
- Pairing mode;
- Activate voice assistant;
- Accept / end voice call;
- Play/stop music.
The two remaining buttons are responsible for switching tracks forward and backward, adjusting the volume, and muting the microphone during a voice call. Conveniently, the microphone is turned off by pressing one of the two buttons, either by “+” or by “-” and holding it for 1 second.
The microphone is integrated into the control panel. The recording quality is good; there is no background noise. I also noticed that, most likely, the filter works by cutting off external noise from the voice, so the voice is slightly distorted. Let your voice sound slightly different than the other person will hear everything that is happening next to you.
I think this type of voice transmission is acceptable for phone calls because it is much more important that your interlocutor clearly and clearly hear your speech, albeit in a slightly distorted version, and not speech without distortion, but with the noise surrounding you that would prevent him from understanding what are you saying.
Therefore, from a practical point of view, the Beyerdynamic Byron BT microphone works perfectly.
Byron BT uses Bluetooth 4.1, standard codecs and profiles, and a codec for high-quality aptX music transfer. If you want to get the most out of your headphones, make sure your phone or player also has aptX codec support. Otherwise, a much simpler CBS codec will be used, which will noticeably affect the music’s quality.
The headphones worked reliably during the test. Only on the street (in thick winter clothes), I achieved a slight instability, which was expressed in stuttering in playing music. I had to put the phone in the lower pants pocket (not the one near the belt, but in the pocket at the knees), especially place the remote control (in which the antenna is located) directly above the shoulder and squeeze it in a fist. Only in this case light interference appeared. I did this specifically for the test. Under normal operating conditions, there was no interference.
The package claims a wireless range of up to 10 meters, and this is true. In the apartment, I walked about 7 meters from the telephone. At the same time, there were doors and one wall between the headphones and the phone. Only then interference began to appear. In the open space, the headphones worked confidently at a distance of 10 meters from the sound source.
I can summarize: Bluetooth communication in the headphones is stable; there should not be any serious problems with their use.
I listened to the Beyerdynamic Byron BT for several days at home and outdoors while taking long walks. I planned my route to often walk along busy roads to check the noise insulation of the headphones.
I can say with confidence that the passive noise isolation of the headphones is at a good level. Of course, if you want to listen to them on the subway, you will have to increase the volume, but you won’t have to do this when walking down the street. And in the room, even at a comfortable volume level, you will stop hearing what others tell you. These are great headphones for listening to music if you work in an open office: you will only hear music and nothing more.
During walks, I especially watched whether I would have to adjust the headphones in my ear with frequent head turns. The headphones are pretty confident, of course. I corrected them sometimes, but not often, and I did not use silicone “anchors.” I believe that comfort is good so as not to feel any inconvenience even on the street.
As I wrote above, in the cold season, when you are wearing puffs or other warm clothes, you need to arrange the headphone cable not to stretch when you turn your head and do not pull the earphone out of your ear.
The headphones feel comfortable in my ears. Even after three hours of listening, my ears are not tired of the headphones. I think this is an excellent result. Remember that it is essential to choose the ear pads that fit your size.
Sound quality Beyerdynamic Byron BT
I listened to music using the Deezer streaming service during testing, and special test recordings were recorded as 24 bits, 192 kHz.
The sound of the Beyerdynamic Byron BT headphone is well balanced between performance and naturalness. When listening to individual tracks, such as Louis The Child, K.FLAY – It’s Strange, the headphones cope well with low frequencies. They are powerful, fast, and deep. Simultaneously, the headphones do not force the bass, so in tracks that do not specifically focus on the bass, the headphones will sound clean and even.
I also noticed that the headphones slightly emphasize the vocals, and it sounds nice. A voice hovers over the music, completely without distorting the sound of instruments.
Headphones try to play the sound neatly, without crossing the line beyond which the reproducing equipment’s accents are noticeable. Headphones do a great job with bass but don’t emphasize it. They slightly emphasize vocals, but at the same time, the mid and high frequencies remain clean and without noticeable distortion.
Byron BT does a great job of playing bass, playing it deeply, quickly, and powerfully in compositions specially created for this, and where the bass should sound moderately, it does not stand out and sounds in the background. Headphones skillfully balance between drive and accurate bass delivery, which not all, even more expensive models can do.
At medium frequencies, the headphones sound clean and detailed, highlighting the vocals slightly. Both female and male voices sound expressive, soft, and even. There are no noticeable distortions or “sand”; the sound is pleasant.
High-frequency headphones play without sibilants, but they are slightly muffled. Perhaps the Bluetooth data compression codec does its bit, but I noticed that at high frequencies, sometimes, there is not enough density in the sound and sparkle. Personally, I would like more air and vibrancy in the sound.
In general, I can summarize that Byron BT sounds balanced. They can play music of any genre, whether heavy metal or a lyrical ballad, trance, or calm techno – everything is subject to them.
I like that kind of sound because it is even and has no noticeable distortions in any of the sides, from which sooner or later, ears begin to tire. You can listen to Byron BT for a few hours every day, and there will be no hearing fatigue.
Conclusion: Should you buy Beyerdynamic Byron BT Wireless Earbuds?
Beyerdynamic engineers did an excellent job. They released wireless headphones with high sound quality and a good level of comfort.
Byron BT has no major flaws. If you find fault, you can recall the sound guide’s non-standard size or a large control panel.
Most importantly, these are excellent wireless headphones for everyday use: they have good passive noise isolation, a stylish appearance, take up very little space in your pocket, and work up to 7 hours on a single charge.
I recommend the Beyerdynamic Byron BT to anyone looking for simple, stylish, modern, and balanced-sounding wireless headphones.
