Product is rated as #2 in category Wired Earbuds
The MA750 sounds very good, only slightly raising the upper mids. The sound is slightly colored, but it only benefits from this. Especially when listening to musical material with vocals. They cope with any genre, any complexity of the music. Even in the tensest, complex, and dynamic music moments, they do not lose their grip, continuing to reproduce sound with jewelry. If you do not like the factory setting for some reason, you can change it using the equalizer. The headphones are equipped with an excellent driver with a good headroom at all frequencies and instantly respond to even the smallest frequency adjustment. It is very convenient to use the headphones outdoors, thanks to the successful implementation of the behind-the-ear attachment. Headphones do not fall out of ears, hold on tight, and do not need to be adjusted. I recommend RHA MA750 for all high-quality music lovers. The headphones are especially capable of opening up when playing music in lossless formats and even Hi-Res records.

PROS:
  • First-class and durable materials are used in the manufacture - stainless steel;
  • Convenient over-the-ear hook that makes using the headphones on the go cozy and comfortable;
  • Strong tangle-free wire 1.35 meters long;
  • A very rich set of ear pads of 9 additional ear pads (7 pairs of silicone, 2 pairs of Comply foam);
  • High-quality and detailed sound, headphones are ready to play Hi-Res recordings;
  • 3 years official warranty;
  • Convenient and stylish carrying case.
CONS:
  • Those who like plentiful bass will have to use an equalizer;
  • The headphone cable is very durable and reliable, however, it adds weight to it, so if you do not use the included clip for attaching to clothes, the cable will be unpleasant to pull on the headphones.

Packaging

The RHA MA750 headphones come in a stylish and practical package. More to the point, this is one of the best headphone packages I’ve seen. The front of the box opens like a book, and behind it, under transparent plastic, you see headphones neatly laid in plastic. You can see a rich set of earpads, a thick and durable cable, a steel jack. I’m sure the box is great for pushing people to buy these headphones. Even the more expensive competitor models do not look as impressive.

Equipment

The RHA MA750 headphones are perfectly equipped with:

  • Headphones;
  • Clip for clothes;
  • A rich set of 9 additional ear pads (7 pairs of silicone, 2 pairs of Comply foam);
  • Carrying case.

Design

I want to note the manufacturer’s attention to detail. The first thing that catches your eye even before you open the package is that the earpads are fixed on a polished metal plate and do not lie in a bag like most competitors.

The carrying case is large, rectangular, and resembles a leather wallet. There are special rubber bands inside that will hold the ear cushion plate—an elegant solution. Thus, you can always and everywhere take a full set of earpads with you and change them as needed. There is also a small pocket inside which you can put a small object, for example, an adapter. At first glance, you may think that the cover is too large; however, this is not accidental. The headphone wire is thick and tends to straighten out on its own. It is convenient; the headphones will never get tangled but requires more storage space. Besides, the headphone housing itself, coupled with the behind-the-ear mount, takes up a lot of space. Therefore, the size of the cover is just right. If I were deciding on the size, I would increase the thickness by 3-5 mm so that the headphones can be folded faster and easier.

All significant parts of the headphones are made of stainless steel: the headphone housing, jack, and tee on the wire. These are all the parts most susceptible to breakage, and they are all metal. I think the RHA MA750 will be able to withstand the toughest operating conditions.

The wire is also not simple – it is reinforced with a special rubber compound. The coating is thick, probably twice as thick as conventional headphones. In this case, the wire cannot be confused. It constantly strives to straighten. Even if you put the wire in your fist, start to crumble, and confuse it on purpose – you will not succeed. Attention to detail in everything is how I would describe the RHA approach.

The manufacturer claims that the headphone housing’s shape is made according to special sketches, which the company developed after numerous studies and attempts to create the ideal shape. They called it Aerophonic. Indeed, the shape is unusual. It seems quite simple from the outside, but for some reason, other manufacturers do not do this, or I just have not seen such headphones yet. I don’t know what is inside, but outside, the shape resembles an asymmetrical neck, with negative curvature of the edges, much like a sound funnel. I don’t know what influenced the sound quality more: a unique driver developed specifically for this model, the shape of the headphone case, or the synergy of these two elements. But the sound from the headphones is outstanding. You can’t argue with that.

RHA has created its own driver specifically for the MA750 – model 560.1. It provides not only balanced sound but also high-resolution playback. Thanks to the driver, the headphones are awarded Hi-Res Audio certification from the Japanese audio community. These are not just words. The headphones are really capable of handling hi-res music.

RHA MA750 headphones review

RHA MA750 has a behind-the-ear mounting type… But here, too, the company’s engineers did not follow the known path and decided to make the mounts really convenient. Usually, such fasteners are made of plastic, and the plastic does not change its shape. Therefore, such an amount either fits your ears or not. There is no third way. In the case of the MA750, the ear hook is a wire that has a sheath that remembers the shape of your ears. You can bend it the way it is convenient for you. It will remember this shape while remaining soft and elastic. This attachment is almost imperceptible on the ears and does not interfere with their use at all. On the contrary, I noticed that when using it outdoors, I practically stopped adjusting the headphones. In the case of the traditional in-ear headphone attachment, I needed to correct the fit from time to time. You often have to turn your head in all directions to navigate the terrain. The over-the-ear hook gently but securely holds the earbuds in your ears. So for 2 hours of walking around the city, I never straightened my headphones. I think this is the ideal amount.

The headphone jack is made of metal with engraving and special notches that will not be slippery even if you take it with wet hands. The wire is protected by a long metal spring. This is the first time I’ve seen a similar solution applied to in-ear headphones. This is usually the way to protect the wire from expensive professional monitor headphones. It’s nice that RHA did everything to make the headphones serve you for a long time and delight you with excellent sound.

Convenience

RHA MA750 headphones review

I would also like to write about the usability of the RHA MA750. There are several reasons for this: a unique wire, behind-the-ear, metal body.

Before writing the review, I used only this model for a week: at home and on the street.

For home use, the headphones are great. I used them for listening to music and for sounding computer games, and I play for a long time. I can play for 4 hours without a break. So for all 4 hours of playing, I never straightened the headphones. Moreover, they were so comfortable in my ears that I completely forgot that I was sitting in headphones. When I finished the game and walked away from the computer, I almost pulled the headphones out of the jack, but I saw the wire in time and managed to stop.

I spend 2 to 3 hours outdoors every day and used the MA750 every day. The behind-the-ear mount does its job perfectly; the headphones never fell out of the ear. Moreover, I didn’t even have to correct them.

RHA MA750 sound in games

RHA MA750 headphones review

I know exactly what the sound should be in the game for you to get the maximum possible pleasure and the rich information content of the sound.

I mainly play first-person shooters. This is the most demanding genre in terms of sound quality. Sound is special effects, but it is also information about what is happening around the character: where the enemy is, what he is doing, and where they are planning to go.

Therefore, I expect from the headphones as much information as possible about everything surrounding my character in the game.

While testing the RHA MA750, I bought the Prey game and couldn’t tear myself away from it until I was completely through. It took me about 26 hours, and during that time, I could hear the sounds of the game through these headphones.

The sound is amazing. Very great detail, clear sound. Great soundstage sensation, the volume is intuitive. There are quite a few moments in the game when the enemy attacks stealthily, covertly. It is not visible but audible. And the headphones saved me a lot of times – I was perfectly oriented in space, thanks to the sound, and never made a mistake in the direction of determining the source of the sound.

I want to note the nature of the headphones’ sound – light, with a slight but perceptible emphasis on high mid frequencies. It may seem that this character of the sound is not very suitable for games. It is usually assumed that for games. You need a sound with abundant and massive bass. But the trick here is marketing.

Yes, the plentiful bass, which all gaming headphone manufacturers emphasize, makes the sound more impressive and creates a WOW effect. But very soon, in my case, after an hour of playing, the head starts to get tired of such a sound. Also, a strong emphasis on low frequencies dampens mids and highs, which are extremely important for accurately determining the sound source’s direction. After all, whoever was the first to hear the enemy, who is not yet visually visible, won. It is for this reason that many gaming devices have a special mode for e-sports. It differs in that, in practice, it removes the lower frequencies. At competitions, it is not up to the beauty of the sound – performance comes first. And the maximum result can be achieved only with the most accurate and fast orientation provided by the mid and high frequencies.

The MA750 combines the best of both worlds: good bass and excellent spatial awareness. Headphones do not focus on bass, but where necessary – they reproduce them perfectly, deep, and detailed. And while not drowning out the middle and high.

RHA MA750 sound quality when playing music

RHA MA750 headphones review

RHA positions the MA750 as a high-end headphone. They can cope not only with CD-quality music but also with Hi-Res recordings. I was personally convinced of this, and I can responsibly declare that this is not marketing – it is true.

The headphones performed very well when listening to test recordings and regular commercial music.

In general, the sound is light, with a slight emphasis on the high mids. This sound character is particularly effective in reproducing instrumental music: the acoustic guitar sounds just great. The vibration of each string is heard. Close your eyes. You can vividly imagine the musician’s hand sliding along the strings, plucking them.

Male and female vocals sound very detailed and realistic. There is not even a hint of distortion or sibilance.

I highly recommend that you use these headphones when listening to high-quality recordings only. When listening to highly compressed music, of which there is a lot today, or listening to the mp3 format, all the flaws of the recording are immediately heard.

Music with a high level of compression sounds flat, inexpressive, dull. Music compressed into mp3 format seems loose, lacks sound density and detail.

However, when listening to high-quality recordings, the headphones open 100%. The sound density is perfect. It does not seem to be vibration but an elastic surface. Headphones can handle any frequency and complexity of the music. I still could not find a recording during which the headphones would fail.

If you forget about the reality and the cost of headphones, you can, with great effort, scrape together one claim on the sound: when playing dance music, you want more low frequencies. An equalizer easily corrects this, so this item cannot be considered a full-fledged disadvantage.

Bass

Headphones do not emphasize low frequencies. But if there are any in the recording, be sure that the headphones will cope with them. The bass is firm, fast and deep. At the same time, there is no booming or humming. When listening to high-quality recordings, I noticed that the bass is significantly different from that in the mp3 version. In mp3, it becomes more loose and uninteresting. But when you start listening to the same track in FLAC format, the low frequencies literally transform, become deep, and very dense.

Mid frequencies

This is the strong point of headphones. They cope with them playfully and sound music of any complexity without distortion or overflow. The sound always remains clean, detailed, and spacious. The music scene is felt distinctly and clearly. Vocals, both female and male, sound clean and realistic. If you close your eyes, your imagination can easily draw a scene where the magic happens: in the center is the vocalist, the role is slight to the right, the saxophone is slight to the left, and the double bass is playing in the background.

High frequencies

The headphones can handle any high frequencies because The driver has a huge technical reserve – it can reproduce sound with a frequency of up to 40 kHz. Therefore, the high frequencies sound very clear, airy, and crystal clear. Of course, I have not heard sibilants or other similar distortions. The sound is detailed and realistic.

Scene

Headphones can convey the sense of volume of music very well. Each instrument is played separately. There is no musical mess, as is the case with many other competitors’ headphones. The sound is spacious; the difference between the left and right channels is very well felt in stereo recordings. This ability of headphones perfectly manifests itself not only when listening to music but also in computer games.

Listening to music

I used most test tracks from two demo discs, recorded specifically for testing acoustics and headphones. One of the main features is that the music has not been overly compressed and retained its full dynamic range. This is a critical parameter, which is not always observed when mixing modern popular music. The full dynamic range allows you to fully unleash the capabilities of your headphones for incomparable listening pleasure.

Conclusion: Should you buy RHA MA750?

RHA MA750 headphones review

The RHA MA750 headphones made the most pleasant impression on me. Made from high-quality stainless steel, the wires are strong, thick, and tangle-free.

They look very stylish and modern. They are versatile, suitable for both a business suit and a fashionable hipster outfit for guys and girls. They will emphasize the good taste of the owner and will serve for a long time.

The manufacturer gives a 3-year warranty, you see, this is a very bold statement in the world of portable audio.

The MA750 sounds very good, only slightly raising the upper mids. The sound is slightly colored, but it only benefits from this. Especially when listening to musical material with vocals.
