9.2/10 (Expert Score)
Product is rated as #1 in category Wired Headphones
The Razer Blackshark V2 X is a reliable and relatively inexpensive gaming headphone. In this model, I liked the versatility, the sound quality of music, games, and the microphone. And, importantly, they are very comfortable. If you don’t need an additional sound card and audio settings in Razer Synapse, the Blackshark V2 X is an excellent wired gaming headset option.

Razer aviation headset

Today we’re taking a look at the Razer Blackshark V2 X Gaming Headphones. Compared to the Blackshark V2, the X version is simplified and cheaper. They are just wired headphones, no sound card, no THX, and no simple cable. But this does not mean that this model is worse. I must say right away that the sound is excellent, and the design is very comfortable.

Razer Blackshark V2 X Design

Razer continues the overall design of the Blackshark series. Thin mounts, stylized aviation headsets, everything is the same here, but in a new way.

By the way, the design has become noticeably more matte plastic, which went to practicality in favor. There are no questions about the overall build quality; everything is on the level here. Headphones do not emit unnecessary sounds either in the hands or on the head. There are no backlashes either.

The older and younger models of the Blackshark V2 line do not differ much – the color of the logo, the wires, and the material of the ear cushions. In the X version, they are made of leatherette, and in the more expensive model, they are made of breathable fabric. But, I must say right away that using headphones in the summer, I was not hot in the Blackshark V2 X.

Ease of Use

By this parameter, I liked the headphones. They are lightweight – only 240 grams. The filling of the ear cushions is soft. The headband is moderately broad. There is no feeling of pressure on the head, and it does not appear even after several hours of use.

The cable in the junior version is covered with simple rubber, but it is also relatively light and is not felt during use.

The microphone, like the cable, is non-removable. It is fixed on a flexible leg and slides out easily. A separate button is provided to disable it. We will talk about its quality further.

Razer Blackshark V2 X Sound

The sound of Blackshark V2 X is frankly pleasing. Here, a couple of 50mm drivers are responsible for this, the same as in the older version. The sound can be described as powerful, spacious, clean, with a well-developed top. The bass is not excessive, does not overshadow other ranges.

I must note that the new S & M2 from Metallica sounds great in these headphones, but since this is a concert recording with a symphony orchestra, some of the headphones’ limitations in the upper range are audible in it. Of course, we are talking about gaming headphones, so we will not make claims about complex compositions’ sound.

In games, the headphones sound precisely as they should – voluminous, clean, effective. The roar of engines, gunfire, and other special effects work well. As well as positioning in the surrounding space.

As for the microphone, everything is fine here, as you can see for yourself.
