In general, as I said, Jaybird Vista is a good update to the Run model, with improved sound and some design changes. These are attractive sports headphones that will sit securely in your ears while jogging or with active movements. But in a world where AirPods already cost less than $ 150, the price of Jaybird Vista looks a bit overpriced. We hope that the cost of this model will be slightly reduced, especially in the hot holiday season, when even more fully genuine wireless headphones will appear on the market.

Jaybird Vista True Wireless Bluetooth Sport Waterproof Earbuds: A Complete Review

Jaybird began its journey in the market for fully wireless headphones (AirPods-style) with the launch of the Run model in October 2017. These headphones, upgraded later to Run XT, had a good design, but not enough to be considered great. Their current successor, Jaybird Vista, has an improved design and enhanced sound quality, which, I hope, will help these headphones become a winner.

At a cost of about $ 180, the Jaybird Vista is a little more expensive than you would expect, but this model is one of the best wireless headphones that appeared on the market in 2019. It will appeal to those who are looking for classic fully wireless headphones that can be used in sports and have good protection against moisture.

What did I like about Jaybird Vista?

The headphones sit securely in my ears and are comfortable to wear. Three earbuds of different sizes and sports inserts are included in the kit to ensure a snug fit and a secure fit. They are light in size and fit better than Beats PowerBeats Pro, which, however, has slightly better sound and more bass.

Jaybird Vista sounds good, although not as good as some of the highest quality fully wireless headphones, such as the Sony WF-1000XM3, Sennheiser Momentum True Wireless or Klipsch T5 True Wireless. When properly planted, they provide a warm, pleasant sound with focused bass.

The charging case is relatively compact, lightweight and fits into your pocket without any problems.

Jaybird Vista is made of very high quality. They are completely waterproof according to the IPX7 certificate (which means that they can be immersed in water for up to 30 minutes). I dropped one of the inserts a couple of times, and this did not affect the quality of its work.

It should be noted that the battery life of Jaybird Vista has increased. Now it is up to 6 hours at a moderate level of volume listening to music. When using the case for charging, it increases by another 10 hours. The Jaybird Vista charging case itself is charged via USB-C, while charging for 5 minutes gives an hour of listening to music.

Jaybird Vista as a phone headset works even better than I expected, although not as good if you are in a noisy environment. For example, when I was talking with someone on the street, an ambulance with a siren turned on, and at that moment the interlocutor could not hear my speech.

You can receive calls in stereo or use each headset independently.

I had several signal interruptions when using headphones on the street (now the situation is not very favorable in megacities for wireless headphones), but there were no serious problems. The wireless connection was generally reliable, and it was also a notable improvement in the Jaybird Vista model compared to Run.

Jaybird uses the new Bluetooth 5.0 wireless chipset, which is clearly more stable. At the same time, I did not notice the syncron when watching a video using various applications.

Headphones have physical buttons to control playback and volume, but you must program them in the app. To increase the volume, you press and hold the button on the right liner, and to decrease the volume, you press and hold the button on the left.

What did I not like about Jaybird Vista?

As I said in the introduction, the price of this model looks a bit overpriced. In my opinion, as of today’s market, they should cost about $ 150 or a little less. For example, JBL Reflect Flow headphones, which sound just as good and have similar functionality, cost $ 150.

Jaybird Vista does not sound as detailed and dynamic as many top-end models (though some of them are more expensive). With the factory settings, they sound good, but I was able to further improve their sound using the application. Here you can adjust the sound using the equalizer, with the addition of custom settings to fixed, and the result exceeded my expectations.

At first, Jaybird Vista did not sit very comfortably in my ears. But after I pulled out the liner for a while, and then put it back in place, everything was fine. Headphones will be comfortable for most people’s ears, but, as always with models of this class, they are not suitable for everyone.

As already noted, the wireless interference issues in Vista are minor, but with some competing models, I didn’t have them at all, even when testing outside. The Jaybird Vista headphones do not have an acoustic transparency mode that allows you to hear ambient sound, that is, what is happening around.

Since this model has good sound insulation, you need to play music at lower volume levels in order to hear ambient sounds when jogging outdoors. The competing JBL Reflect Flow model has an Ambient Aware mode that lets you hear the surroundings.
