For me personally, the model is long-awaited. From the moment of the announcement, I was eager to try, not disappointed. Familiar QC20 in a new format, you do not need to look for a place to remove the cable. The price is justified, as this is the only compact wireless model with a really working ANC system on the market.

I strongly advise Bose's lovers (very, very strong) to try - probably this is just your gift for the holidays.

PROS:
  • It is convenient to wear throughout the day, about nozzles - I advise you to try on before buying if StayHear is unfamiliar to you.
  • A working system of active noise reduction.
  • Good battery life, 10 hours.
  • Good sound quality, voice transmission.
  • It is worth praising Bose for the delivery, a good cover.
  • A good implementation of the headphone program for iOS / Android, support for software updates, the ability to make settings.
CONS:
  • Inability to use while charging, the headphones immediately turn off. But during long flights, it would be nice to shut yourself off from the hustle and bustle and at the same time charge the QC30. I hope that with the help of software updates this will be fixed.
  • The short range, apparently, is used by Bluetooth Class 2.
  • The voice of the interlocutor is muffled, but you can be heard perfectly.

Design and Construction: Bose QuietControl 30 Wireless Earbuds

Immediately I want to answer the two most important questions about the Bose QC30. Why QuietControl and not QuietComfort? The answer is simple, the device still belongs to the line of earbuds with active noise reduction, but for the first time, it allows you to adjust the noise reduction level through the program for iOS / Android. Therefore, we decided to emphasize the special features in the title. The second question is, is it comfortable to wear the Bose QC 30? Conveniently! There are no reservations because the necklace is made very well. I don’t know how to name this detail correctly. Let there be a necklace.

The case for the QC30 was made special, round, compact – you are unlikely to have to use it on a trip. It is easier to wear headphones around the neck. The massive necklace is lightweight and made perfect in terms of ergonomics. Inside there is hard rubber or something like that. On the outside, there are inserts made of matte plastic. That is, the QC30 does not slip, the tracks are invisible on the device, and the whole design looks more elegant than the Bose QC20 – no doubt, the model is excellent, but the wires with the unit interfere, cling, get confused, there’s nothing to mention. The cables in the QC30 are of optimal length; the headphones’ shape is the same as in the QC20. Probably,

Adding wireless functionality eliminated the need to release different models for iOS / Android (with different pinouts on the plug). Because the Bluetooth version is suitable for various gadgets, there are no problems with connection and compatibility.

I note that Bose elegantly used the form factor, solving several problems at once. Firstly, in the necklace, you can hide the circuit board with electronics. Secondly, a necklace is a very convenient thing in everyday use: if you don’t want to listen to music, pull out your headphones – you don’t have to remove and hide anything. It’s great and in flight. If you want – watch a movie; if you don’t want to – get your earbuds and sleep. Thirdly, the headphones look good with any clothes, even with a polo, even with a shirt, very technical and modern accessories, as always with Bose. And there is no tangle of wires! Finally, in life, such headphones are even more convenient than Bose QC35. Of course, if the nozzles are right for you, you won’t wear them all day, but the QC30 allows this. Well, they hang out somewhere under the jacket, so what if I want to wear it when I want to take it off.

The only thing I didn’t really like was the inability to use while charging. There is a micro-USB connector on the bottom of the necklace. It would be logical to connect an external battery in flight and listen to music or watch a movie. Alas, when you connect the cable, communication with the smartphone immediately ceases.

The cable has a massive remote control. In addition to the volume buttons, a multifunction button for answering calls, playback control, there are also noise reduction buttons. Small buttons are easy to find. It’s just a pity that it’s hard to understand when you have reached the maximum value. There are no voice prompts in this regard. The buttons on the remote control are well made; they are easy to find and use blindly. The NFC sensor is located on the remote control for a quick connection to Android smartphones.

On the inside of the necklace is a tight power button and the pairing mode; Bose QC30 can easily work with two devices. For example, you can work for iPad Pro, listen to music, and answer calls on the iPhone. Here, voice prompts help you understand what the headphones are connected to. The indicator lights are made well when you wear a headset. They are invisible.

Small cups have not changed; there are noise-canceling system microphones, StayHear + nozzles are used. With nozzles, everything is simple, they are suitable for most, but some can not use them in any way. I would advise you to try the tips of different sizes, maybe even different sizes for the left and right headphones. I got used to StayHear for a long time, but now I find them optimal for use during the day – they do not close the auditory canal tightly, are comfortable with prolonged wear. Three pairs of nozzles included.

Here’s how headphones look in public.

I can advise Bose QC30 to both men and women. The product will suit everyone.

The stated operating time is about 10 hours. In life, you can count on just such an indicator.

Bose Connect: Bose QuietControl 30 Wireless Earbud

The updated Bose Connect program pleases that when the Bose QC35 came out, it was just a kind of empty house. Now the utility is filled with functions, including the appearance of something quite unusual. For example, there are rumors about the possibility of broadcasting sound from one Bose headphone to another. Of course, we are talking about wireless models. And the second rumor concerns the possibility of using headphones to transmit speech without a phone – but this is generally a rumor.

The functionality of the application, appearance, chips are pleasing now. There is a convenient bar for adjusting the noise reduction level. Even if you are listening to music from SoundCloud, the track’s name, the mix is displayed here. You can control playback. In the settings, you can see the list of connected devices, the name of the earbuds. You can turn the voice prompts on or off. There is an auto-shutdown timer. This is convenient if you pulled out cups and do not use the device – to save energy; it is better to set the auto-shutdown for twenty minutes. Although you can choose the value “Never.” The program allows you to update the headphone software; first, the data is downloaded. In my case, it took about half an hour, and the download time is displayed in the program. Then, via Bluetooth, data is transferred to the QC30.

The device’s operating time is displayed on the program screen and in the notification bar on the iPhone.

Noise reduction: Bose QuietControl 30 Wireless Earbud

For those who expect miracles from ANC and complete protection against noise, I’ll immediately say that miracles do not happen – the QC30s are trained to cut peak values, eliminate noise, and muffle sudden sounds that appear suddenly. If in the office someone listens to music and relaxes in front of NG, then in the Bose QC30, you are as if behind a screen. By adjusting the noise reduction level in the program, you understand how much unnecessary information is around, for example, if you work in a cafe – they mutter on the left, on the right, at the checkout, the client loudly asks to add one and the other to the glass. Unscrew the regulator, and like a transparent curtain, removes all this information garbage.

The rise in interest in headphones with active noise reduction is precisely because people learn to work productively using the most modern means. Of course, first of all, the Bose QC30 is a headphone, a thing for pleasure. But it is also an essential urban tool for maintaining calm in a variety of situations.

Music: Bose QuietControl 30 Wireless Earbud

The headphones have an active equalization system. For example, this mix on most wireless headsets would not sound. The correct supply of low frequencies and various effects is essential here.

It’s a pleasure to listen to the Bose QC30. Well transmitted low frequencies, voices, various instruments. In general, the sound is proprietary, very similar to the Bose QC35 – if you listened to the company’s big earbuds, you would instantly find similar features. Despite the size, there is a sense of volume. At a decent volume, there is no fatigue and the desire to pull out the headphones in half an hour – they do not tire; this is a big plus.

Bose QuietControl 30 Wireless Earbuds

The voice quality is good. In a variety of conditions, you will be heard well. The voices of the interlocutors sound a little dull. Perhaps this is due to active noise reduction.

The operating range is about three to four meters. Then interruptions begin. It is even better to move around the apartment with a smartphone in your pocket.
