Apple set to move new Apple watch and MacBook production to Vietnam.

The US tech giant company, Apple is beginning to make plans to diversify its production away from China into India the country with the world’s second-largest smartphone marketplace and also in  This is a big win for the tech manufacturing sector in Vietnam, South Asia.

Originally, the production in India started since in 2021 when the first iPhone-13 was produced and released.

With factories in Vietnam producing a variety of Apple iconic items, such as iPad tablets and AirPods headphones, the country is fast becoming the company’s most significant production hub outside of China. Since the trade war, and later its energy and zero-COVID initiatives, China’s position as the largest manufacturer in the world has been questioned.

Apple has directed that test production lines be established in Southeast Vietnam. Progress on this new goal of making Vietnam a mass-producing marketplace for apple watches, MacBooks and other products has been slow. This delay is attributed partly to some pandemic-related disruption.

According to Nikkei Asia, a reliable source, Apple’s diversification to Vietnam started with AirPods, which went into mass production there in 2020. The earphones were among the first Apple products whose assembly was shifted out of China after a trade war between Washington and Beijing broke out under former U.S. President Donald Trump.

The Apple suppliers Luxshare Precision Industry and Foxconn have begun the test production of the Apple Watch in northern Vietnam with the aim of producing the device outside of China.

In other news, it is also revealed that other giant tech companies like Amazon, Dell and Google have also set up production lines in the country in an attempt to diversify production beyond China.
